Course content
1. Introduction to the issue of product photography, its purpose, genre specifics and use in commercial and artistic practice. 2. Studio equipment for product photography - types of lights, accessories, diffuse and reflective materials, photo tables and set construction. 3. Working with light in the studio - basic lighting schemes, contrast control, soft and hard light, use of reflective surfaces and modifiers. 4. Photographic technique and lenses suitable for product photography; specifics of macro photography and precise work with depth of field. 5. Composition and visual stylization of the product - shape, texture, material, color, perspective; principles of arrangement depending on the type of product. 6. Exposure and its management in controlled studio conditions; precise light measurement, working with histogram and digital preview. 7. Workflow of a product photographer - scene preparation, test shots, standardization of procedures, work with color calibration. 8. Advanced techniques: focus stacking, working with reflections on shiny surfaces, photographing transparent objects, light tunnels. 9. Digital post-production of product photography - retouching, image clarity, color correction, unifying the appearance of the file. 10. Creating a complete product series - visual unity, working with creativity, preparing outputs for print, web and presentation. 11. Individual project tasks in the studio, consultations and presentations of student work.

to compare and analyze different artistic expressions by criteria of esthetics, semiotics and technique on basic level , to specify basic knowledge of supporting arts disciplines , to know basic usage of photography and its forms,

to use basic rules of different composition types, to develop research on the topic to show own creativity on generally assigned task, to show the will to find different artistic solutions, alter them and constructivelly evaluate, to work independently and activelly and flexibly react to evaluating commentary of the teacher,
