Course content

1. Introduction to the subject and demonstration of the possibilities of machine embroidery in the context of contemporary fashion design, assignment of a semester topic. 2. - 3. Basic technological principles of working on an embroidery machine and their creative use in clothing and experimental creation. 4. - 5. Practical demonstration of embroidery techniques, combinations of threads, fillings, and structures about their visual and haptic qualities. 6. Experimental approaches to embroidery - layering, spatial applications, and connections with other textile techniques (e.g., knitting, printing, patchwork). 7. - 8. Selection of appropriate technological solutions according to the nature and intention of individual student projects. 9. Interconnection of technological, aesthetic, and artistic aspects of creation with an emphasis on innovation and an authorial approach. 10. - 12. Actual implementation of the project, proofreading,g and final editing 13. Presentation and reflection of individual student work, joint discussion on the choice of technologies, experimental procedure,s and creative development.
