Course content
|
The course is intended for doctoral studies. Importance of logistics, logistics strategy - interconnection of logistics strategy with company strategy. Logistics of purchasing processes - content and rationalization of purchasing processes, supplier relationship management. Material flow management - logistics technology in production and distribution. Inventory management - inventory management strategies, inventory management costs, symptoms of poor inventory management, inventory optimization. Warehouse logistics management and its aspects - warehouse networks, financial aspects, functions of warehouse operations, cross-docking. Logistic Information Systems - progressive Order Processing Systems, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), RSS, Decision Support Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems. Global logistics - strategy in international distribution channels, global logistics management, logistics of multinational retail chains. Logistics outsourcing and logistics chain optimization solutions, advantages and risks of outsourcing. Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) - area of use, main effect, prerequisites for application in production-trade relations. Supply Chain Management (SCM) - inventory reduction, supplier-customer relations and their management, supplier inventory management (Vendor Managed Inventory - VMI). E-commerce in logistics. ISO standards in logistics - certification as a competitive advantage.
