Course content
Theory - basic overview Approaches and methodology Message; news and current affairs Media subsystem as a segment of political system with emphasis on reality of the Czech Republic; public vs. commercial; media advice and examples Journalist and codes of ethics Politics in the Social Media Era - general introduction Politics in the Social Media Era (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as PR and Political Communication Tools) Fake News in politics - from production to spreading tactics; Fake News and strategies of the EU, Czech Republic and NGOs; how to detect Fake News? Excursion in Czech Television Excursions in Czech Radio or journalists visit in class

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 30 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 10 hours per semester
  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 8 hours per semester
