Course content
1. Stages of development of British foreign policy 2. Basic orientations of British foreign policy 3. Comparison of the British and other empires 4. Decolonization of British empire and the Suez crisis 5. British internal politics 6. Conservative vs. Labour 7. Great Britain and the EU in foreign policy issues 8. Metamorphoses of the British Empire - from Empire to Commonwealth

to describe significant historical events in English-speaking countries and explain their significance
to characterise important cultural-historical epochs of English-speaking countries in the first half of the 20th century with regard to Great Britain
to identify the fundamental turning points that had a major impact on the events structure of the international system
to identify and characterise individual key actors in various stages of the international system

to interpret historical and political events on the basis of knowledge of the system characteristics of the international system in individual stages
to collect the necessary data from academic English sources, adequately analyse them and subsequently interpret them in written or oral form
to critically evaluate the role of actors in the contemporary international system
