Course content |
This course is taught in English. Following topics formt he period of the Late Middle Age and Early Modern Period (14th - 17th Century) will be presented: - archaeology of the Late Middle Age village (structure of settlemnt in the period given, desertification of the rural settments, reduction of the village density, layout of the settlemts, construction patterns, homestead, house, agriculture, non-agricultural production) - archaeology of the Late Middle Age towns (town development, layout and its changes, profane buildings, communications, water management, fortification, public buildings, town parcel, house and its hinterlant, crafts in archaeological sources) - archaeology of the fortified settlements (castles and strongholds, landscape and the settlement pattern, castles and their hinterlant, basic types of castles and their development) - overview of basic types of the movable artifacts and their chronology - archaeology of the Early Modern Period (post medieval archaeology, archaeology of the Early Modertn village, towns and other types of sites, overview of chosen artifacts - pottery is emphasized)
