Course content
In this course, the world of the nomadic societies in the period from 4th to 13th century will be introduced. Students will become acquitanted with the nature and the material culture of individual cultures within a wide geographical area (eg. the Huns, Bulgars, Khazars, Tatar-Mongols and others.). The ethnogenesis, outline of culture, funeral rituals, material and spiritual sphere in the light of archaeological sources will be included in every lecture related to the individual culture. Some lectures will be given also the art of these companies.

To summarize general nomadic cultural model of the 4th - 13th century in Central Europe, the Black Sea region, the Caucasus, the Pannonian Basin and Siberia
To summarize ethnogenesis, cultural framework, burial rites and material and spiritual culture in the light of archaeological sources within the monitored areas
To outline the expression of art of these societies
Skills
To identify basic outlines of material base of individual cultures in the monitored areas based on different settlement strategies in contrast with agricultural cultures
