Course content
|
1. Hallstatt period in central Europe; Bohemia, Moravia; introduction, history of the early Iron Age studies, chronology, natural environment, economy - production, settlement areas and their parts, material culture; 2. La Téne period in central Europe; introduction, history of the Late Iron Age studies, chronology, natural environment, economy - production, settlement areas and their parts, material culture 3. Roman period; introduction, territorial, chronological and ethnical background to the periods; types of sources (written, archaeological, art-historical); representatives of two distinct worlds (Germans and Romans); Archaeology on the contacts between Roman empire and the Barbarians. Roman period in Bohemia and Moravia - chronology, natural environment, economy - production, settlement areas and their parts, material culture;large-scale field projects.
