Course content
The objective of the course is to provide an overview of the past and the present status of aerial and long-distance survey in archaeology, of the basic goals of this discipline in the context of the present needs of archaeology, of the principles of the identification of archaeological sources on the surface and in the surface layers of terrain, of the processing of data gained by the aforementioned procedures (aerial visual prospection, satellite images, aerial laser scanning, orthophoto maps, aerial photogrammetry). A half of the course is dedicated to the application of modern geophysical methods of field research (magnetometry, geoelectric resistance methods, electromagnetic methods - georadar, DEMP, metal detectors). Under certain circumstances, the course can be supplemented with practical exercises (training survey flights, geophysical measuring in the field). Viz "Courseware".
