Basic topics: 1. Main directions of European castellology 2. Development of Czech castellology, a field in the European context 3. Typological concepts in Czech castellology 4. The castle as a construction-technical problem 5. Development of Czech castles 6. Castles of the late Middle Ages and modern times 7. Modern fortification architecture 8. Castle and landscape 9. The castle as a symbol 10. The castle and its economic background 11. Research of Torsal architecture, castle grounds and its specifics 12. Protection of snakes, torsal architecture, possibilities for historic modifications and presentation The seminar is conducted in English or German.
