Course content
The students will be introduced to the basic laboratory and preservation methods which are used for treatment, rescue and preservation of artifacts and ecofacts from inorganic as well as organic materials (iron objects, non-ferrous metals, glass, ceramics, wood, leather, and textile). Emphasized will be knowledge of the modern physical, physico-chemical analytical methods and procedures and their use in preservation (visit to a specialized preservation center).

  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 8 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 44 hours per semester
