Course content
The students will be introduced to the basic laboratory and preservation methods which are used for treatment, rescue and preservation of artifacts and ecofacts from inorganic as well as organic materials (iron objects, non-ferrous metals, glass, ceramics, wood, leather, and textile). Emphasized will be knowledge of the modern physical, physico-chemical analytical methods and procedures and their use in preservation. Special emphasis will be placed on the conservation of walls and structures made of other materials and their components.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
  • Attendance on a field trip (number of real hours - maximum 8h/day) - 8 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 40 hours per semester
  • Individual project (40) - 17 hours per semester
