Course content

Training provides students with a thorough introduction to the laboratory investigation and processing of archaeological finds (in particular washing and cleaning, ceramic fragment assembly, vessel reconstruction and completion), their recording (reference number, laboratory record, database), and their packing and storing. Separate attention will be devoted to an introduction to conservation techniques (the conservation of wood, metals, skin, glass and textiles - including a visit to a specialist workplace). The aim of the training is to teach students to independently master laboratory practices and processes, and to lead a laboratory team.
