Course content
|
The students will be acquainted with Antiquity-period sources related to our territory. The aim of the course is to outline the historical development of the Czech territory in the given period and clarify how archaeological sources contribute to its knowledge. In addition to movable and immovable archaeological sources, students will be acquainted with the history of the research, the methods used in the study of the given period and with the institutions and researchers dealing with it. After completing the course, the students will have gained an understanding of the archaeological and partly also written and other sources and their significance for the knowledge and reconstruction of social life in the Roman period on the territory of the Czech Republic and in Central Europe.
