Course content
This course is focused on archaeological excavation itself. Survey of approaches and methods related to the destructive field work will be discussed. The main topics that will be discussed are following: - legal framework - systems of evidence of the archaological sites - definition of the destructive field work (field analysis) - preparation of the field project (pre-excavation part) - stratigraphic units and stratigraphic relations - methods of excavation and documentation - kinds of sites and field situations - eveluation of a field project (post-excavation part) - documentation - issue of a field project - method of documentation of the archaeological contexts - two days long field practice
