Course content
First part of the introductory course explaining the basic theoretical and methodological approaches (artefacts, ecofacts, transformations, analysis, relative and absolute dating etc.), and the reconstruction of past societies and their symbolic structures on the background of archaeology as well. Second part of the course gives a brief overview of human cultural chronology from Palaeolithic till the end of prehistory in central Europe. Artefacts from Czech Republic and Europe are used to illustrate various prehistoric periods.
