Course content
Thematic areas: 1. The present state of the theoretical understanding of the problem. 2. Possibilities and limitations of empirical research (historical construction research). 3. Confrontation with traditional methodology in the field with new interdisciplinary approaches. 4. Application of suitable methods. 5. Interpretation of results. 6. Structure and formulation of a research report (selection of structure, graphic and verbal scientific description, archival research, comparison with published results of other functionally identical structures and creation of a model of the structure's development).

  • Individual project (40) - 104 hours per semester

Knowledge
Students have a grasp of archaeological theory and methodology (MA level). Students are familiar with approaches and literature relevant to their PhD theses.
Skills
Students understand scientific text in Czech and English and are able to interpret and critically assess its content. Students know how to utilize electronic information resources. Students are capable of working systematically and independently. Students are capable of formally presenting their research and leading scientific discussions.

Students understand the issue of researching empirical material linked to the topic of their PhD theses.

Students are able to process empirical material independently in connection to their PhD thesis topic and create a scientific research report.
