Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 8 hours per semester

- identify and explain important events, processes and trends in the history of Africa from ancient times to the 21st century - characterize the three most important religious systems - identify the related professional literature

- work independently with professional literature - draw information from current information sources, orientate yourself in the available professional literature and critically evaluate and use it - use modern information technology efficiently - use the English language both verbally and in writing

Knowledge
- explain the essential processes and wider connections of historical events and events - discuss the history of the African countries concerned - identify the specifics of individual countries, their position in the region and in wider international relations - interpret the role of religion in contemporary societies, analyze the progress of the democratization of the region and the like - identify and explain different methods or approaches to researching the past, the basic procedures of archaeology, anthropology and history
Skills
- discuss the history of Africa in a well-founded manner, find support for your opinions or conclusions in critically and analytically used professional sources and sources - identify, explain and problematize findings about historical trends and transformation processes - explain and use specific theoretical frameworks for the interpretation of social phenomena in Africa - thoroughly analyze the individual discourses discussed - analyze and critically use related sources and professional literature - to argue in a discussion independently based on the topics in question - compare the usefulness or adequacy of different theoretical approaches
