- to characterize from the relevant perspective various regional cultural phenomena, elements, systems - to describe ethnic, religious, linguistic and social and cultural diversity of the Middle East and North Africa - to put theoretically mastered concepts of cultural and social anthropology/sociology into the real cultural contexts of region of the Middle East and North Africa - to identify specifics of different types of basic social institutions and standards

- to use individually theoretical concepts of culture and social anthropology/ sociology in order to grasp specific cultural phenomena within studied region - to interpret causes of cultural diversity in the region - to analyse critically available relevant sources.

Knowledge
- to identify the cultural specifics in given countries of studied region and the causes of their differences - to identify local valid standards, conventions, habits etc. i given the cultural contexts - to explain important regional cultural phenomena - to define locally valid norms - to describe cultic and profane feasts, official and public forms of religiosity, roles and influence of religious authorities etc.

- to deduce adequate forms of social interactions in given environments on the basis of acquired knowledge - to use given knowledge in given environments - to evaluate the meaning of the standard, convention, habit etc. from given context
