- to know the history of ancient Mesopotamia and of mythological and epic compositions written in Sumerian and Akkadian language - to be familiar with Mesopotamian deities and knows Mesopotamian cosmological, cosmogonic, theogonic and anthropogonic concepts - to know history of ancient Middle East - to characterize cultures of ancient Middle East - to identify different ancient religious systems and to characterize them - to identify important deities of given period
Skills
- to analyze individually problems related to the nature of the religion of ancient Mesopotamia - to identify those religious elements that have been incorporated into younger religious and thought systems and to interpret their meaning - to interpret mythological and epic texts written in Sumerian and Akkadian language - to study independently domestic and foreign literature
