Course content
|
Basic overview of philosophical streams and positions in most important periods of history of philosophy (Antiquity, Renaissance, Middle Ages, Modern Age, Enlightment, philosophy of 19th century, modern philosophy). Students will be introduced into the basic philosophical cathegories and terms. 1. What is philosophy? 2. Philosophical subjects, the sence of philosophy. 3. Antique philosophy - presocratics, Socrates, Plato. 4. Antique philosophy - Aristoteles, Helenistic philosophical schools. 5. Middle ages philosophy - overview of main themes. 6. Philosophy in Renaissance - overview of main streams. 7. Modern age philosophy - rationalism. 8. Modern age philosophy . empirism. 9. Enlightment - basic characteristic. 10. Philosophy of 19th century - German classical idealism, positivism. 11. Philosophy of 19th century - irationalism, philosophy of life. 12. Present philosophy - phenomenology, existencialism, hermeneutics. 13. Present philosophy - neopositivism, philosophy of language, philosophy of science.
