Course content
Lectures: 1. A basic philosophical approach. Interrelation between ontology, epistemology, ethics, science and philosophical conception of human. The question of practical use. 2. The role of religion and religious ethics. Basics of axiology. 3. Problems of moral acting. Freedom and responsibility. 4. A brief history of ethics. Relation of ethics to law and social life. 5. A human being in the sense of existence and as a person. 6. A question of good and evil in philosophical perspective. 7. Human life, illness and death as philosophical problems. The sense and suffering. 8. Human life in relation to nature and society. Human responsibility particularly towards ill and desabled people. 9. An ethical education and its possibilities. Ethical challenges in contemporary medicine. 10. Codes and problems of medical ethics.

learning outcomes
The students will get basic knowledge concerning a philosophical approach to human beings, towards a human being, ethical theories and acting. The students will use particular cases to demonstrate their ability to understand and use the knowledge in practical health care.
