Course content
|
1. Introduction to philosophy, basic philosophical field, questions, answers and their meaning. 2. Brief history of philosophy, concepts and paradigms philosophy. The share of philosophy, religion and science on knowledge and orientation. 3. Comparison of historical and contemporary worldview. The problem of determining the position of a man; problems of reason, value, money, humanity. Sources of modern thought, postmodernism. 4. Concepts of freedom, free agency and moral behavior, the problem of responsibility. 5. I-Thou relationship, the relationship of I- it. Person, The Other, Face. Respect for life, conscience, dignity and humanity. 6. Ethics as a philosophical discipline. Her place between law and morals. Morality and ethics. Basic ethical concepts, approaches, rules. 7. Ethical dilemma and its importance. Time and ethics. The conflict of values and rules, the problem of personality structure. The moral assessment of actions. 8. Life as gift and value. The meaning of life and death, health and sickness, youth and old age. European Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine. 9. Ethical issues of dying and death. The truth about the truth in a hospital bed. Thanatology. The issue of euthanasia. 10. Professional ethics, the issues and present. Ethical codes of medical personnel, work ethics committees. Patients' rights. Right to information, confidentiality, informed consent. The protection of personal data, medical confidentiality. 11. Special ethical issues: alternative medicine, acute interventions etc.
