Course content
|
The following topics will be focused: basic periodization of Czech culture formation; typology and periodization of culture development; historical origins of Czech culture; Slavic culture and Christianity; folk holidays and customs and their transformation affected by Christianity; Christianity and origins of Czech statehood, Reformation and Counter-Reformation movement`s influence on Czech culture development.

| Students will be able to define and describe basic periodization and typology of Czech culture since Slavic arrival to our territory. They will be able to summarize historical origins of Slavic culture and to explain the influence of Christianity on folk holidays and customs transformation, on formation of Czech statehood and Reformation and Counter-Reformation movement`s influence on Czech culture development. |
