Course content
|
The emergence of the concept of visual arts. Classification of individual arts. The blurring of the boundaries of art in the 19th and 20th centuries; arts, crafts, industry and media. The emergence of new art forms in the 19th and 20th centuries: photography and film. Definition of art in the theories of the 20th century: expressiveness, aesthetic experience, symbolization, revealing the truth. Contemporary attempts to define art: art and ethical relations, interculturally shared imagery. 1. The personality of the artist from Renaissance art theory to the early avant-garde: the "discovery" of artistic individuality 2. Hegel's idea of the "end of art" and its reflection in later concepts of the development and current state of art 3. Reflection of the nature of abstract painting in its significant representatives (Mondrian, Malevich, Kandinsky) 4. The function and nature of the institution of the museum of fine arts in the reflections of the authors of the 20th and 21st centuries.
