Course content
Poetry 1900-1918 (French and Belgian Symbolism, unanimismus, female poet, the birth of avant-garde, Futurism, Dada movement) Theatre 1900-1918 (novoromantismus, a theater of ideas, lighter genres, the concept of the drama of Paul Claudel, Jarry's absurdist drama as a precursor) Novel 1900-1918 (19th century heritage: rightist and leftist intellectual scene, figures with a new poetics: Péguy, Proust, Gide) Inter-war poetry (surrealism: the origins, formation, evolution and main characteristics of the movement - until today) Drama Between the Wars (Jean Giraudoux tragic theater, theater of cruelty of Antonin Artaud, Jean Cocteau, dream theater) The inter-war novel (psychological, spiritual, critical, humorous, feminist) Existential philosophy and its literary representation (Sartre, Camus, Simone de Beauvoir) Theatre of the Absurd (Beckett, Ionesco, Adamov) New novel (Robbe-Grillet, Sarrautová, Butor) and his legacy French literary scene of the 60th years (the New Left, feminism, structuralism) Postmodern Poetics (definition, development, changes and contradictions) in the current work French Literature for Youth The most published author and past decades (Michel Houellebeck, Milan Kundera, Christian Jacq, Albertine Sarrazin, Andrei Makin Alain Gerber, Pascal Quignard, as well as potential workshop literature Oulipo, a group of TelQuel, Perpendiculaire review, etc.)
