Course content
The course deals with written business communication and the functional development of language skills is linked to this. Particular attention is paid to punctuation and further practice and consolidation of professional vocabulary and basic structures. The course also introduces important business documents and introduces communication practices in today's corporate environment. Students practice writing letters and emails during seminars and at home in the form of homework assignments. Types of communication practiced: Business inquiries Orders Complaints, complaints Inquiries directed to the banking and insurance industries CVs and cover letters Social correspondence

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Preparation for formative assessments (2-20) - 20 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 32 hours per semester

evaluate the functions of business correspondence from the information, language, documentation, formal and social point of view
use the standard for the formal characteristics of business corresppondence
categorize documents from the point of view of formal and non-formal processing and content

demonstrate on various tasks the enhancement of language skills at B2+ level according to CEFR
adequately apply the knowledge of business writing standards
correctly use the adress of the sender and addressee, date, etc.
adequately use the address and final greetings in business letters
independently create documents related to the conclusion of a business contract, such as inquiry, enquiry, offer, order, order confirmation and rejection
