French classicism (Corneille, Racine, Moliere) The Enlightenment in French philosophy and literature (Montesquieu, Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau) Romanticism (Hugo) Realism (Stendhal, Balzac) Historical Novel (A. Dumas) Naturalism of E. Zola Maupassant Flaubert
