Course content
Interpreting as a process. Main interpreting methods. History of interpreting and its position and development at present. European Union and its language policy. Notation and its practising. Preparation for the interpreting - glossaries.

  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 26 hours per semester

to demonstrate knowledge of the morphological and syntactic categories of the English language;
to name functional styles and their characteristics;
to demonstrate basic orientation in functional styles and their characteristics;
to conduct discussion on the given topic

to demonstrate specialized language skills at B2 level according to CEFR;
to identify basic morphological and syntactic phenomena in an English text;
to identify basic functional styles;
to express oneself fluently and spontaneously;
to correctly identify the content of English utterances
summarise the content of a written/spoken English text and identify its main ideas;

to demonstrate a broadening and deepening of the level of language skills attained, i.e. B2+ according to CEFR, on various types of tasks;
to adequately apply interpreting strategies;

to perform in-situ interpreting
