Course content
Further information on interpreting techniques. Information about main disciplines forming theory of interpreting. Practising the use of notation. Simultaneous interpreting - its history, principles, methods and usage. Useful advice and tips recommended by professional interpreters. EU and languages. Significance of extralinguistic means when interpreting. Individual interpreting - simulation of real-life situations.

to describe the history of interpreting and its current status and development;
to characterize the basic interpreting methods;
describe the principles of interpreting notation and the role of notation;
express themselves clearly on the issue in writing and orally;

to identify basic morphological and syntactic phenomena in an English text;
summarise the content of a written/spoken English text and identify its main ideas;
adequately apply interpreting strategies;
