Course content
Preparation before interpreting, glossary making Memory exercises (punctual reproduction, free reproduction, condensation, and free content) Translation of lexically difficult phrases (generalization, description). Both directions sight interpreting, informative and consecutive interpreting. Interpreting with notation. Simultaneous interpreting. Content focus company, enterprise, job market, working conditions, rights and duties of an employer.

  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 40 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report in a foreign language) (10-15) - 12 hours per semester

to describe the differences between interpreting and translation
to appoint methods at the work of the iterpreter
to enumerate the principles of notation in interpreting
to explain the principles and principles of consecutive interpreting
Skills
to perceive short testimonies of foreign-language authentic spoken text (Russian) without any distraction
Suddenly perform several challenging mental activities in parallel for a shorter period (listening, understanding, writing) - so-called multitasking
globally transfer the perceptions of foreign-language spoken authentic text into Czech
to listen to the spoken texts with full understanding of the essential ideas
to apply the general principles of transformation of the spoken word from the default language into the target language in interpreting
to communicate in Czech best native speaker level, at a very advanced level (at least B2 / C1 - possibly speaking in native speaker level in Russian)
