Course content
1) Course introduction. The status of the humanities (especially anthropology) before 1945. 2) The status of the humanities after 1945. 3) The concept of culture in classical anthropology. 4) The concept of culture in post-war anthropology. 5) The study of kinship in classical and post-war anthropology. 6) Anthropological approaches to the study of the spiritual life of society. 7) Ethnology and anthropology in a Central European perspective. 8) The status of folklore studies and its tasks. 9) Major international research projects. 10) Anthropology as intercultural hermeneutics. 11) Anthropological and ethnological reflection on socialism.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 50 hours per semester
  • Contact hours - 65 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 40 hours per semester
