Course content
Working with short authentic specialized and popular-educational German texts on cultural and social anthropology. Grammatical, lexical and stylistic analysis of those texts. Revision and mastering of basic grammatical issues (inflection of nouns, adjectives and pronouns; forms of auxiliary, modal, regular and irregular verbs in the present, future, perfect and preterite tenses; formation of subordinate clauses). Mastering structures and grammatical issues characteristic for specialized texts (especially passive voice forms, dependent infinitive with zu, acquisition of conjunctive I. and II.). Introduction to the terminology of the field of study.

No prerequisite courses. The language level B1 is presupposed for this course.

To understand basics of work with authentic technical texts concerning cultural and social anthropology. To recognize basic grammatical, lexical and stylistic features of technical function style. To read short and easy German technical texts and apply grammatical structures typical for students? own spoken or written texts.
