Course content
1. Criminology and Social Work 2. Social transgression, deviance, criminality and related concepts 3. Classical criminology and biological theories of deviance 4. Psychological theories of deviance, applied psychology and psychiatry in social work 5. Structure, function and deviant subcultures 6. Social construction of deviance and criminality 7. Postmodernism and earthology 8. Media, Crime and Deviance 9. Criminalisation, victimisation and hate violence 10. Criminality and social inequality 11. Homelessness and transgression 12. Substance and non-substance dependence as transgressive behaviour 13. Social control and prevention

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
