Course content
1-2. basic terms and concepts (both theoretical and practical) from the area of public opinion research 3-4. history of public sphere 5-6. history of public opinion research 7-8. selected theories of public opinion and its formation 9-10. methods of public opinion research 11-12. ethic codex of WAPOR and ESOMAR

learning outcomes
Knowledge
Students are able to: - define basic theoretical and practical terms of public opinion research (thereinafter POR( - describe history of public sphere and POR - charakterize basic theories of public opinion and its formation - describe selected methods of POR - discuss assigned seminar literature critically - write summary of their arguments on assigned literature - find relevant literature on assigned topic - define research questions and hypotheses based on literature review - choose suitable methods of POR for assessing validity of their hypotheses - aply suitable methods of POR - realize own POR - analyze results of POR - formulate relevant conclusions on the basis of analysing results - write: research question, hypotheses, and their theoretical resoning; choice of suitable methods; findings and conclusions
