Content: 1. What is an emotion? Approaches to the study of emotions 2. Emotional socialization 3. Emotional work, carework 4. Emotions and Inequality: Gender, Race and Class 5. Emotional deviation 6. Emotions and identity 7. Emotions and social change 8. Emotions as a commodity (capitalism, consumption) 9. Emotions and security
