Course content
1. Introduction, presentation of the course and conditions of completion 2. Sociology of religion and its approaches to the study of religion 3. Religion as a phenomenon - problem with definition, religious dimensions 4. Proto-sociology, the classics of sociology of religion and their theory 5. Religion from the perspective of contemporary sociology 6. Religion from the perspective of so-called "great narratives" - modernism, postmodernism 7. Religion from the perspective of so-called "great narratives" - globalization, secularization 8. Religion in the public sphere - liberals vs. fundamentalists 9. Processes of individualization and its impact on religiosity 10. Religious organizations and movements 11. Race and ethnicity through religious optics 12. Religion and gender
