1. The relationship between sociology and the helping professions 2. The relationship between nature and culture 3. Identity and socialisation of the helping worker 4. Social interaction and communication 5. Social norms, values and institutions 6. Social groups as part of the helping professions 7. Institutional parameters of helping professions - stratified society 8. Education 9. Gender, ethnicity and intersectionality 10. Poverty and social exclusion 11. Power and authority. Power and the aid worker profession 12. The helping profession as part of the bureaucracy 13. Feminist sociology and the helping professions
