Course content
Students will present their own ideas of effective teaching and they will apply it in school practice. This discipline is aimed at deepen and broaden the knowledge and specific knowledge from previous courses with emphasis on the educational use at a later teaching practice. Therefore, the selected topics are chosen according to curriculum. Attention will be paid to current textbooks and contemporary historiography and application of new knowledge in teaching. Topics: The Problems of the oldest civilizations in the world. Mesopotamia - Samaria, Babylonia and Assyria. Hittites, Phoenicians and Israelites. Egyptian civilization, in light of contemporary Egyptology (including the Czech research). Minoan and Mycenaean culture. The birth and expansion of Greek antiquity. The emergence of Rome and his journey from the republic to a world empire. The contribution of Greco-Roman civilization. Termination of the ancient world.

  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 30 hours per semester

factual knowledge of the history of antiquity, knowledge of professional and popular educational literature, orientation in didactics of history
Skills
is able to work with professional and popular literature, as part of the topic of empowering information, orienting itself in the basic chronology of antiquity, critically working with historical sources.

Knowledge
the student will focus on the history of antiquity, deepen and broaden the knowledge and knowledge gained in the previous professional subjects and will be able to apply didactic knowledge and didactic knowledge in school practice. Students get acquainted with different methods and forms, evaluate them and in school practice choose the most suitable ones for teaching the history of antiquity.
Skills
will recognize textbooks and didactic aids suitable for teaching the history of antiquity, justify their choice and effectively work with them in teaching history. Students present their own didactic ideas and apply them effectively in school practice.
