| the circumstances of the emergence of a separate state not only as a result of the loss of Central Powers. It will describe the national and social issues of the Czechoslovak Republic as a significant factor of further development. It analyzes the influence of negative political parties (DNP, DNSAP, SdP, KSČ). It compares development in Czechoslovakia with other Central European states. It will define the possibilities of Czechoslovak foreign policy in the 1920s and 1930s and in the period around the Munich crisis. Explain the different interpretation of the so-called Second Republic in Czech historiography and compare the Communist evaluation of the First Republic with the facts. It will evaluate the consequences of the Second World War for the further existence and political direction of Czechoslovakia |

Learning outcomes of the course unit The student will work on the basic chronology of Czechoslovak history in the first half of the 20th century, will be able to argue with the historical events of the modern period, to generalize and apply the acquired knowledge, and will focus on the basic literature on Czech and Czechoslovak history. |
