Course content
1. The older, but especially the modern and contemporary history of the relationship of music and its mediated form. From the importance of writing and notating to the first forms of sound recording and, in particular, the mass distribution of music by radio. The history of radio and television broadcasting, the differences between different types of radio broadcasting in the Czech Republic, Europe and overseas, the legislative regulation of Czech Radio and Czech Television. Situation and place of radio broadcasting at the time of the Information Revolution. Basic programming and journalistic genres ranging from simple programming, through publicity programs to music to live broadcasting. The Role of Broadcasting in the Contemporary Music World. An introduction to the issue of direct and indirect distribution / trade of finished products and media / music on the Internet with all the pros and cons of this phenomenon, current trends in this field. Current management practice, especially in the field of mediation, presentation and promotion of so-called classical music. 2. History of sound recording from the beginning of the twentieth century, industrial use of sound recording - the breakthrough character of the mass-produced so-called musical preserves, the emergence of gramophone companies and the entire branch of the gramophone industry. Analyzing the activity of the record company from dramaturgical design and planning through sound or image production to distribution and distribution networks. History of the gramophone industry in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic, problems of today's gramophone industry, the analysis of so-called "majors", the share of the world market in pieces and financially, other companies at home and abroad, the area of classical music market and its share the world and domestic market, piracy, world-class organizations in the field of phonographic industry (IFPI) and their branches in the Czech Republic. Situation of the Internet and new types of recordings and carriers (MP3, DVD, SACD), so-called gramophone industry crises, outlooks and the future of the gramophone industry, recording and its media - promotion, marketing, marketability, contractual record keeping.
