Lectures: Methodology subject. General characteristics and functions of popular music (NAH). NAH division. Terminology. The development NAH until meeting with jazz. NAH development in the country. Jazz - characteristics. Basic characteristics of the musical-expressive means of jazz with an emphasis on kinetic component. Departments of African-American folk music. Developmental stages of jazz - jazz marching, Chicago style. Developmental stages of jazz - New York, swing. Developmental stages of jazz - be bop. Developmental stages of jazz - cool jazz, west coast jazz, third stream, hard bop, soul jazz. Developmental stages of jazz - free jazz, jazz rock, jazz modern contemporary popular music - characteristics. Country music, rhythm & blues, R & R - development, major celebrities, rock music of the 60s, 70s rock music.
