Course content
Content of lectures: 1. -2. Basic terminology, objectives, subject and definition of gereontopedagogy. 3. Historical and social context, dimensions and sources of gerontopedagogy. 4. Bio-psycho-social aspects of the aging process and aging. 5. Education of seniors and their functions. 6. -7. Specifics of senior education, incl. motivation and learning conditions. 8. - 9. Didactic cycle of seniors education and its specifics. 10. Institional and non-institutional education of seniors in the Czech Republic and abroad. 11. Barriers to senior education and possibilities of intervention. 12. Lecturer as facilitator in senior education. 13. Modern care for the elderly and its importance for improving the quality of life of seniors. Content of seminars: Seminars will be the practice of developing topics from lectures. In the seminars a team project of an activation program (educational program) will be implemented for a selected group of seniors.

  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 10 hours per semester
  • Team project (50/number of students) - 30 hours per semester
