Course content
1. The importance of communication in therapeutic work and crisis intervention. 2. The communication methods and forms. 3. Analysis of verbal reports. 4 - 5. The nonverbal communication with client. 6. Active listening. 7 - 8. Assertiveness. 9 - 10. Dealing with aggressive forms of communication. 11 - 12. Possibilities of influencing the client's communication forms. 13. Evaluation of teaching.

Knowledge
Describes the process of social communication. It defines the individual components of social communication. It characterizes current psychotherapeutic directions. Defines the basic mental disorders at the level of knowledge of the subject of psychopathology for teachers.
Skills
Recognizes adequate and inadequate forms of communication. It proposes rules of effective social communication. It evaluates and compares current psychotherapeutic directions according to selected criteria.

It clarifies the importance of communication in therapeutic work and crisis intervention. It explains the importance of crisis intervention and its benefits for the client. Defines the principles of effective communication with the client in providing crisis intervention. Lists and clarifies techniques of active listening.

Interprets and justifies the importance of communication in therapeutic work and crisis intervention. In practice, it uses adequate methods and forms of communication with the client. He applies techniques of active listening and assertiveness in interaction with others. It responds appropriately to aggressive forms of communication. Adequately uses the communication forms of influencing the client in the counseling interaction.
