Course content
1. The current gallery and museum practice in the CZ and abroad 2. Examples of good gallery and museum practice 3. Visiting educational centres of selected galleries, and current exhibitions 4. Art-based content and the possible ways in which to transform it within an educational programme 5. The issue of developing worksheets and methodological sheets for gallery and museum educational programmes 6. The issue of developing structured educational programmes 7. The methodology of gallery and museum education 8. Selecting an exhibition and analysing the key concepts of the planned teaching activity 9. Preparation of educational programme and consultation 10. Graphic design of educational materials and their presentation 11. Verifying educational programmes in practice 12. Reflection and evaluation of gallery and museum teaching in the context of gallery and museum pedagogy 13. Proposals for improving alternations of given programmes and their contribution to general education

  • Individual project (40) - 5 hours per semester

Knowledge
to interpret the work of art in broad cultural and social contexts;
to elucidate the development of artistic trends and streams with an emphasis on the 20th and 21st centuries;
to prove the theoretical knowledge of Rudolfinum educational programs or other important galleries.
Skills
to activate visitors to the gallery or museum and to promote their communication skills on the basis of pedagogical constructivism,
to bring up an education program;
to reflect their own artistic and pedagogical activities;
to modify a simple, two-page print to A4 size.

to analyze and interpret artwork in the context of time and culture;
to compare different works of art and their means of expression in one exhibition;
to characterize the creative intention of the curator of the selected exhibition;
to clarify the scope of tasks in the worksheets in the context of a specific exhibition;
to develop a structured educational program and verify it in gallery or museum practice.
Skills
to implement and verify the proposed educational program in the gallery practice;
to reflect the educational process of the implemented program;
to propose an improvement of the education program;
to adjust graphically the education program for normal use in the gallery.
