Art in the first half of the 20th century. 1. Arts and Crafts movement, art nouveau. 2. Impressionism in France and its reception in Czech art. Postimpresionism. 3. Origins of modern architecture. 4. Avant-garde in art - fauvism, futurism, orphism, cubism, abstraction. 5. Cubism and abstract art. 6. Dadaism and surrealism. 7. Beginnings of Czech avant-garde art. 8. Reflection of cubism in Czech art, Czech cubist architecture. 9. Czech surrealism and artificialism. 10. Czech architecture between the wars. 11. Bauhaus and applied arts. 12. Theoretical reflection of modernist art. 13. Gallery excursion.
