Course content
An excursus into copyright law with regard to information technologies and rights in the field of industrial property protection (in particular trademarks). Focus on copyright law especially in the field of art, the foundations of copyright protection, also in the context of the Internet. 1. Introduction to copyright law, with a historical excursus in the territory of the Czech Republic 2. Definition of the position of the Copyright Act 3. Introduction to industrial property rights 4. The issue of authorship 5. Protection of rights 6. Collective administration 7. Copyright law and artificial intelligence 8. Licence agreements 9. The nature of copyright law and use in the online environment 10. Individual methods of using copyrighted works 11. Non-contractual mechanisms of the use of copyrighted works 12. Copyright law and the EU, international regulations

Knowledge
- describe the fundamentals of copyright law with an emphasis on practical application (historical development in the Czech Republic, the position of the Copyright Act, authorship, industrial property rights, protection of rights, copyright and the Internet, methods of using copyrighted works, contractual copyright relationships, sponsorship)
- demonstrate knowledge of the basic issues of copyright law and authorship
- demonstrate knowledge of the basic historical development of law in the Czech Republic
- explain the position of the Copyright Act within the legislative system

- apply copyright law to issues related to the Internet and networks
- use copyrighted works in compliance with the law (copyright contractual relationships, sponsorship, etc.)
- make use of available legal remedies for the protection of rights
