Course content

The nature the judiciary. Legislation connected to professional practice of the judiciary, organization of the judiciary, branches of judiciary, principles of judiciary. Judicial system (composition, subject matter and functional jurisdiction, seats of courts), rule of procedure for district and regional courts, Constitutional Court, Supreme - , High - , Regional - and District Courts The position of judges, jurors, court and legal trainee, higher court officer and assistant, liability for damages caused by public autority, disciplinary proceedings Specific position of arbitration courts, arbitrators, arbitration a enforcement of arbitral awards Administration judiciary (protection provided to public subjective rights ? I. Part. (administrative court rules of procedure) Administration judiciary (protection provided to private subjective rights ? II. Part. (5th part of Civil Procedure Code) Current legislation of public prosecution, function of public prosecutors and his activity in criminal and civil proceedings, disciplinary proceedings Probation and Mediation Service, position and activity of probational officer and assistant, probation and mediation in criminal proceedings. | To create complete overview of functioning of the judicial system of the Czech Republic in students and of course help the students to get a better preparedness for the professional life in any branch of the judicial system, which should be the goal of the university law studies and not only to pass the exam terminating the particular subject. The student will be able to list the individual institutions within the system of justice of the Czech Republic and describe their organization and functioning. He also realizes the interconnection of these institutions in practice. |
