Course content
1. Introduction, definition of subject matter 2. Historical introduction, primary sources of Jewish law - their species, origin, content and development 3. Introduction of Islamic Law into Historical Contexts, Sources of Islamic Law - Types and Approaches to Islamic Law 4. Family law - marriage under Jewish law, marriage in Israel and diasporas (church marriages) 5. Family law - Terms of marriage under Islamic law, marriage in and outside Muslim countries (church marriages) 6. Family law - Property law relations between husbands in Jewish law, court rulings of selected European courts and American courts about the mosque 7. Family law - property relations between husbands in Islamic law and the law of Muslim countries, court decisions of selected European courts and American courts 8. Family law - marriage divorce under Jewish law, divorces in Israel, bej din 9. Family law - Marriage divorces under Islamic law, Muslim countries, Shariah courts 10. Human rights and Jewish law 11.
