Course content
|
Lectures 1. Introduction to pharmacology. Nomenclature of drugs. Sources of information on pharmaceuticals. Pharmacodynamics. Adverse drug effects. 2. Pharmacokinetics. Drug forms and drug delivery pathways. Variability of drug response. Drug interactions. 3. Substances affecting the autonomic nervous system - sympathomimetics and sympatholytics, parasympathomimetics and parasympatholytics. Spasmolytics and myorelaxant. Local and general anesthetics. 4. Cardiovascular system substances - antiarrhythmics, cardiotonics, vasodilators, diuretics, venopharmaceuticals, antihypertensives. 5. Hemostatics x antithrombotics (antiaggregants, anticoagulants, fibrinolytics). 6. Pharmacological pain management - opioid and nonopioid analgesics. 7. Hormones in pharmacotherapy. Antibiotics - basic overview, principles of administration, correct choice, risks of ATB therapy. 8. Drugs affecting the respiratory system - antiasthmatics, antitussives, expectorants. 9. Substances affecting CNS - benzodiazepines, anxiolytics, hypnotics, antiepileptics, antiparkinsonics. 10. Substances affecting CNS - antidepressants, antipsychotics, nootropics, antihistamines, antiemetics. 11. Written credit test.
